While the Buffalo Bison couldn't quite beat the Hoover Huskies on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point loss they were dealt last Tuesday. Buffalo fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 59-56. Buffalo has not had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Buffalo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Mallett, who scored 21 points. Asher Flanery was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Donovan Brown was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with two steals for Hoover. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Logan Mills, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Buffalo dropped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Hoover, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buffalo will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hoover, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Sissonville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
