Elgin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Owens, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 145 yards and a touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Jalen Owens, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hays will challenge Pflugerville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
