The Christopher Bearcats lost against the Marion Wildcats back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Christopher fell to Marion 55-50.
When it comes to explaining why Christopher lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amiah Hargrove. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 56% of Christopher's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Londynn Pontious was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Marion, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.
Christopher will face off against Anna-Jonesboro at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marion won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. The timing is sure in Meridian's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Marion has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
