Bethesda Academy had a senior duo take command as Ashton Wright dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds and Jacari Mckay scored 20 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wright has scored at least a third of Bethesda Academy's points. Israel Wright was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Whitfield, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitfield has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Spaulding iv, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Bethesda Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Savannah Country Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.
Bethesda Academy will be playing at home against Patrick Henry Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethesda Academy is on a six-game streak of home wins, Patrick Henry Academy a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Savannah Country Day, they will head out on the road to challenge Hilton Head Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Savannah Country Day is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
