Basketball Recap: Bible Baptist's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Bible Baptist was feeling good fresh off their 55-20 takedown of Cornerstone Baptist Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bible Baptist Eagles might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the City Baptist School Overcomers an easy 59-38 win. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Overcomers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Bible Baptist still got an impressive performance from David Stapleton, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 20 points. With that strong performance, Stapleton is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Clayton Luchene was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Bible Baptist's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4. As for City Baptist School, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
