After flying high against Corona del Sol last Tuesday, Sunnyslope came back down to earth. The Sunnyslope Vikings took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Millennium Tigers on Wednesday. The game was a 32-32 toss-up at halftime, but the Vikings couldn't quite close it out.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amelia Mickelson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Mickelson has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Rarrick, who posted 13 points.
Destiny Lunan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Millennium, going 9 of 18 en route to 28 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lunan has scored at least a third of Millennium's points. Ryanne Torres was another key player, putting up 12 points.
The loss snapped Sunnyslope's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-8 record. As for Millennium, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.
Sunnyslope will take on Xavier College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunnyslope knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Xavier College Prep likes a good challenge. As for Millennium, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-12 victory against Corona del Sol on the 6th.
