The Neumann Celtics have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season. They really took it to Weeki Wachee for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-10 victory on the road. With Neumann ahead 31-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Sophia McCartney was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Neumann's points. Sydney Martin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
The win (which was Neumann's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. As for Weeki Wachee, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Neumann won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against River Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. River Ridge is on a three-game streak of home wins, Neumann a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Weeki Wachee and Hernando will face off at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hernando will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Weeki Wachee is ranked 158th).
