Abingdon/Avon's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bushnell-Prairie City with a sharp 15-0 victory. Addy Onion made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Onion was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Abingdon/Avon got a massive performance out of Emma Gunther, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Gunther posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Avery Stegall, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Abingdon/Avon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 26 runs the game before, Monmouth United was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 18-1 to Orion. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Storm in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost six in a row.

Abingdon/Avon's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Tornadoes have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Monmouth United, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Abingdon/Avon continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Abingdon/Avon's way against Monmouth United when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Abingdon/Avon made off with a 15-3 win. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Red Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
