The Southwest Christian Academy Lions are ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Destiny Christian Wildcats. Southwest Christian Academy suffered a tough 42-20 defeat at the hands of Destiny Christian. Southwest Christian Academy has struggled against Destiny Christian recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Southwest Christian Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dominic Ferguson, who picked up 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Ferguson's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Thomas Stewart, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Destiny Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dennis Dibbe, who rushed for 235 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Ramsey, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Southwest Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Destiny Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Southwest Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Arkansas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Arkansas Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Destiny Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crossover Prep at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
