Basketball Recap: Northfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Northfield had won two straight games and Judah Michael did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Nighthawks came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured an 88-84 W against the Kent Denver Sun Devils thanks in part to Michael, who dropped a double-double with 38 points and 11 boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Evo Montoya, who posted two points. Montoya is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Kent Denver lost, don't look at Caleb Fay. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 32 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 38.1% of the Sun Devils' points, marking the fourth time in a row Fay has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sam Glynn, who went 6-for-12 en route to 18 points and three steals.

Northfield's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Kent Denver, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Northfield has already played their next matchup, a 77-61 victory against Mullen on the 12th. As for Kent Denver, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 89-49 win against Aurora Central on the 12th.
