Basketball Recap: Assumption Piles Up the Points Against Male

Assumption won the last time they faced Male and things went their way on Friday too. The Assumption Rockets blew past the Male Bulldogs 65-33. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Assumption to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashlinn James, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points and four steals. James is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailee Duck, who posted 17 points.

The win made it two in a row for Assumption and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Male, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Assumption and Anderson County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Male, they will head out on the road to square off against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
