Florida State University and Oxbridge Academy both found success in their previous games. Florida State University came out on top against Taylor County last week with a 56 - 43 win. As for Oxbridge Academy, it had all the answers against Melbourne Central Catholic, winning 32 - 7.
Florida State University got an early lead and maintained it, starting each quarter with an advantage. One major factor in the win was the play of sophomore Bryson Hill, who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns. The victory lifted Florida State University to 7-5.
Meanwhile, Oxbridge Academy was predicted to win a blowout based on MaxPreps national rankings, and the prediction was right. Junior Charles (gio) Richardson was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he tossed the ball for 166 yards and two TDs). Junior James Meeks was in the mix too, providing Oxbridge Academy with two touchdowns. Meeks has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past four consecutive games. The win -- the team's 9th in a row -- brings Oxbridge Academy's record to 9-1.
Oxbridge Academy's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Florida State University defense that got 12 sacks against Taylor County last week. We'll see if it is up to the challenge.
