Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. Wilsonville Wildcats

For the second straight game, Centennial will face off against Wilsonville. The Eagles will welcome the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Centennial took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Wilsonville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats on Wednesday, sneaking past 8-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Logan Landolt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julio Lauzurique Yordi, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Centennial's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-10. As for Wilsonville, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.
