Belleville West took care of business in their home opener. They blew past Riverview Gardens 41-16. The Belleville West offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Junior Jack Mccloskey, who passed for 137 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Dominic Lovett was in the mix, too, providing Belleville West with with 2 touchdowns. This was the first game for both teams, giving Belleville West a 1-0 record and starting Riverview Gardens off at 0-1.
Next week, Belleville West take on O'Fallon at 7:00 PM. As for Riverview Gardens, they will face off against Poplar Bluff.
