Appomattox County is 7-1 against Randolph-Henry since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Chloe Vaughan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karly Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Regan Sheilds was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Randolph-Henry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Amelia County on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Statesmen have posted against the Raiders since April 13, 2022.
Kendall Snead spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks.

Appomattox County's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Randolph-Henry, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Appomattox County continue to outrun the ball?
Appomattox County came out on top in a nail-biter against Randolph-Henry in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Statesmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
