On Friday, Chaparral had to suffer through a rough 74-41 loss at the hands of Stafford. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Stafford is ranked 97th).
Despite the loss, Chaparral had strong showings from Brad Miles, who scored 13 points, and Carlos Robinson, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Robinson also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
Chaparral has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Stafford, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.
Chaparral won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McNeil at 10:30 a.m. on December 30th. Stafford and Shoemaker will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Shoemaker's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
