Cyprus is 1-8 against Murray since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Cyprus will challenge Murray at 3:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cyprus comes in on four and Murray on three.
On Friday, Cyprus got the win against Granger by a conclusive 13-1. Considering the Pirates have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dj Oveson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rene Hidalgo was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Brody Densley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Cyprus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .541 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Murray made easy work of Kearns on Friday and carried off a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Murray also got a great performance from Brody Sofonia as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Degan Biltz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryan Lobach was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Cyprus' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Murray, their record is now 6-0-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cyprus hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Murray struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cyprus couldn't quite finish off Murray when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Cyprus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
