Baseball Recap: Pulaski Has No Trouble Against Sheboygan South

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pulaski). They blew past the Sheboygan South Redwings 25-0 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Jace Olson and Braun Wotruba made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Olson tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wotruba pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Olson posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Olson went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Wotruba scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bryce Wotruba was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Fredrickson, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Pulaski always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pulaski and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Sheboygan South, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Pulaski will venture away from home to square off against De Pere at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sheboygan South, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Green Bay Preble at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Redwings surely won't give up without a fight.
