The Greenwood Rangers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 victory over Seminole. This was payback for Greenwood, who suffered a 58-56 loss the last time these two teams met.
Greenwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Prieto, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Pierce, who scored 12 points.
Greenwood pushed their record up to 19-11 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Seminole, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-10.
Greenwood will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pecos is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Seminole, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loboes at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Monahans' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
