Madison Southern is 2-8 against Madison Central since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Madison Southern took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against West Jessamine, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. On the hitting side, Madison Southern let Larkin White and Katarina Ebert run wild. White went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Ebert went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that White launched this season.

Meanwhile, Madison Central owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Southwestern. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kate Drury was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mollie Neeley, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Reille Parks was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
Madison Central's record now sits at 8-2. As for Madison Southern, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Madison Southern hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Madison Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
