While Hilltop's win against Hicksville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cadets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Aces on Monday. The Cadets haven't had any issues with the Aces recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Kelsy Connolly made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Crossgrove, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. North Central put the hurt on Gorham Fayette with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Amara Wright spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Bre Gendron was a standout: she got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Emmi Hollstein was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

North Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hilltop has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .516. It's a different story for North Central, though, as they've only averaged .313. Will they be able to contain Hilltop's hitters?
Hilltop took their victory against North Central in their previous matchup on April 1st by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
