Basketball Recap: Temple Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Temple had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 68-53 win over the Bowdon Red Devils. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Red Devils are ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaiden Prothro, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 22 rebounds. Prothro's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Xavier Lee was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Temple has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Bowdon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temple will venture away from home to square off against Heard County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bowdon, they will head out to face off against Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
