Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) easily dispatched Miami Country Day on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) fell just short of iMater Charter by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Marathon made sure to put some runs up on the board against Port St. Joe on Monday. Marathon put the hurt on Port St. Joe with a sharp 18-8 win. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Jack Chapman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Roco Piscetello was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Marathon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Marathon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) was able to grind out a solid win over Marathon when the teams last played back in February, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
