On Monday, Payson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-36 to American Fork.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quincey Mathews, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Kyah Bahr was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for American Fork, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Payson will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Riverton at 5:30 p.m. on December 6th. As for American Fork, they will square off against Fremont at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
