Two dominant guards in Brian Singleton and Keiontay marsh are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Conrad Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Adams Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Conrad and six for Adams.
Conrad suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. Their tough 61-38 loss to Seagoville might stick with them for a while. Conrad has struggled against Seagoville recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Adams suffered a tough 73-47 defeat at the hands of West Mesquite on Friday. Adams was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.
Despite their loss, Adams saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. marsh, who scored 14 points along with five steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Terell Toomas, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Conrad has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Adams, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-15.
Things could have been worse for Conrad, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-34 loss to Adams in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Conrad avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
