The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Stokes, who took down 144th ranked South Stokes, 24-22. Zach Koons ran for 218 yards in the win.
Keyshawn Rawley and Brock Reynolds provided fans with a highlight when they connected against North Surry. The longest such play in 2A/1A Northwest this season, the connection resulted in 79 yards.
West Stokes's dynamic duo of Rawley and Reynolds proved tough for the Greyhounds to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rawley threw for 79 yards and one touchdown and Reynolds had 79 yards receiving. Grayson Cobb helped West Stokes' passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
North Stokes's Garrett Wood and Matthew Hopkins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 2605 yards this season, while Hopkins, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 71 catches for 944 yards. The Sauras' Jacquan Martin leads the league in rushing yards with 2010.
The Wildcats moved up to 199 from 233 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. West Stokes was able to make move up by besting North Surry 16-9.
