Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cresset Christian Academy on Monday, St. Mary came back down to earth. The Saints came up short against the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights on Thursday, falling 3-0. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While St. Mary's was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into North Raleigh Christian Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-15.

North Raleigh Christian Academy was led to victory by Camille Donofrio and Carrington Lynn. Donofrio had four digs and four aces, while Lynn had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Donofrio has posted since back in September of 2024. Madison Muto also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

St. Mary's has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Durham Academy on the 26th. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Grace Christian on the 26th.
