The Cairo Pilots will face off against the Century Centurions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Century took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cairo, who comes in off a win.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cairo had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 78-30 win over the Redskins. The win was just what Cairo needed coming off of a 55-21 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Century was the victim of a tough 57-33 loss at the hands of Johnston City on Thursday.
Despite the defeat, Century got a solid performance out of Ashton Dillow, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Dillow has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played.
Cairo's win bumped their record up to 10-18. As for Century, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-5.
Cairo came up short against Century when the teams last played back in January of 2019, falling 45-35. Thankfully for Cairo, Sidney Gotway (who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
