The Bishop McCort Crushers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Bishop McCort is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bishop Carroll on Thursday as they made off with a 19-5 victory. With that win, the Crushers brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Lariah Myers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Pfeil, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Durst, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Bishop McCort always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis entered their tilt with Central on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dragons a 14-0 shutout. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.
Lainey Stinson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Palynn Gregg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Karlie Sweigart was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Bishop McCort's record now sits at 4-5. As for Bellwood-Antis, their record is now 8-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Bishop McCort hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bellwood-Antis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs.
