The Mount Pleasant Tigers were the 48-43 winner over the Piedmont Panthers when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Mount Pleasant lost to Piedmont on the road by a decisive 62-47 margin on Wednesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fred Little, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Leaks, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Mount Pleasant now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Piedmont, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will take on North Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Stanly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully Mount Pleasant likes a good challenge. As for Piedmont, they will be playing at home against Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
