Two dominant  backs in  WENDERIUS JONES and  Dylan Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Ennis Lions will challenge the Poteet Pirates at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Ennis will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  contest than the last.
Ennis took a loss when they played away from home  last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Thursday. They walked away with  a   42-35  victory over Crandall.
 Meanwhile,  it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose  52-20, which was the final score in Poteet's tilt against Midlothian Heritage on Thursday. The Pirates have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 The  win  got Ennis back to even at 4-4. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Everything came up roses for Ennis against Poteet in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, as the  squad secured  a  63-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
