Hermitage faced Decatur in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Decatur took down Hermitage 56-36. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Decatur's flat performance the contest before.
The game started off well for Decatur, whose offense put up 40 first-half points. Hermitage countered with 36 points, leaving the score at 40-36 going into the half. The offense for Decatur continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 16 points to put the game away.
Decatur will be playing at home against Augusta at at 7:00 PM next week. Augusta have averaged 40 points over the course of their past five games, so Decatur might be in for a challenge. As for Hermitage, they will face off against Arkansas School for the Deaf. These teams are both seeking redemption after dropping matches that they were favored to win.
