The contest was a close 27-24 at the break, but unfortunately for Calvary Baptist Academy it sure didn't stay that way.
Despite their loss, Calvary Baptist Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Vaughn, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Vaughn also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was James DeGroff, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Hannan can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 90-45 victory over Ignite Athletics on the road. That 45 points margin sets a new team best for Hannan this season.
Eli Chapman was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. Cameron Wright was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Calvary Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Hannan, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
Everything came up roses for Calvary Baptist Academy against Hannan in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 90-37 win. With Calvary Baptist Academy ahead 50-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
