St. James has gone 9-1 against Carolina Forest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. St. James will head out to challenge Carolina Forest at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Carolina Forest will be up against a hot St. James team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. St. James' pitchers stepped up to hand Myrtle Beach a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carolina Forest). Everything went their way against Socastee on Friday as Carolina Forest made off with a 20-3 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Kaysen Warehime made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Natalie Nesheiwat and Mady Eason did most of the damage at the plate: Nesheiwat went 3-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run, while Eason went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Nesheiwat a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Baker, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Carolina Forest hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.
Carolina Forest is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. St. James' record now sits at 6-3.
St. James came up short against Carolina Forest in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can St. James avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
