It was a good run, but the Oakwood Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 53-38 bruising from Milford. Oakwood has not had much luck with Milford recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Oakwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacee Youngblood. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 60.5% of Oakwood's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lynia Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Jaycee Rigsby was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Oakwood's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Milford, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
Oakwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Milford also has no future games currently scheduled.
