After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Daniel Boone, Volunteer was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the University School Buccaneers with a sharp 58-32 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Falcons have posted since November 30, 2024.

Volunteer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emilee Mailloux led the charge by going 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points and four steals. Courtney Bellamy was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Volunteer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matchups.

The win snapped Volunteer's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-9 record. As for University School, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Volunteer is taking a road trip to take on Claiborne at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for University School, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Johnson County at 6:30 p.m. University School is facing Johnson County at the right time seeing as Johnson County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
