It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Churchill Bulldogs can now relate to. Their rough 31-7 defeat to the Bruins on Friday might stick with them for a while. Churchill's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Churchill lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Avit. Despite the final result, he rushed for 218 yards and a touchdown. Avit hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games.
Cj Watkins looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Churchill's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Broadneck, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Churchill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Broadneck is on the road again on Friday and play against Wise at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Wise is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
