South is 1-9 against Central since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The South Bison will be playing at home against the Central Indians at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: South has struggled recently with 23 defeats in a row, while Central will arrive with 13 straight wins.
South suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Saturday. They were outmatched by Green River at home and fell 76-41.
Meanwhile, Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They walked away with a 74-67 victory over Cherokee Trail. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in Wyoming, while Cherokee Trail is ranked 81st in Colorado), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.
Things could have been worse for South, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-48 loss to Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2023.
