The Northwestern Bulls will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Rockledge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northwestern walked away with it. They skirted past the 51-49.
Northwestern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calvin Russell led the charge by scoring 14 points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanny Desire, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Rockledge gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They put the hurt on Port St. Lucie with a sharp 88-66 win. The win was familiar territory for Rockledge who now have five in a row.
Ryan Blount was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 42 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Terrence Shannon, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Northwestern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Rockledge, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.
Northwestern came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockledge when the teams last played back in February of 2022, sneaking past 62-60. Will Northwestern repeat their success, or does Rockledge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
