It was another big night for Brighton Reutzel, who threw for 358 yards and six TDs while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 42 yards and one score. He is becoming a predictor of Stansbury's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Lincoln Reutzel was in the mix as well, providing the Stallions with two touchdowns.
Stansbury's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cole Tincher, Broncs Baker, and Austin Jacobsen, who each picked up one sack apiece. Tincher was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles (3.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs got the win against Timpanogos on Friday by a conclusive 48-27. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Stansbury better keep an eye on Van Dailey. He was instrumental in Crimson Cliffs' win, rushing for 245 yards and three scores while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns Dailey has posted since back in August. Kade Shaw also helped out as he racked up 106 rushing yards.
Crimson Cliffs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 418 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
Stansbury's record is now 9-2. As for Crimson Cliffs, their record now sits at 9-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Stansbury has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 391 total yards per game. However, it's not like Crimson Cliffs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 361.1 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Stansbury couldn't quite finish off Crimson Cliffs in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 and fell 24-21. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
