The Eastside Early College Panthers will head out on the road to square off against Manor New Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, everything went Eastside Early College's way against Travis as Eastside Early College made off with a 16-1 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mikaela Montoya was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.3 RBI per game. Nini Compean also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Eastside Early College was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .632. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Manor New Tech waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Raiders an 18-0 shutout. Manor New Tech's pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Lynette Munoz and Lelani Ceballos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Munoz pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ceballos pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Munoz scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Ceballos went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Manor New Tech got a massive performance out of Camila Gallegos Alvarez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. Gallegos Alvarez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Guardiola, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI.
Manor New Tech now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Eastside Early College, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Eastside Early College hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Manor New Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Eastside Early College might still be hurting after the 26-9 defeat they got from Manor New Tech in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Eastside Early College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
