The Granger Lancers will face off against the Hunter Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Hunter will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Granger extended their winning streak to four on Friday. Everything went the Lancers' way against Cyprus as they made off with a 26-6 victory. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Lancers were the (much) better team in the second half.

Granger got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sunia Fifita out in front who rushed for 129 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Fifita's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 12th straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateni Puamau, who rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Granger was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 346 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Granger didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Puamau and La'Auli Figiel.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hunter). They breezed past Kearns to the tune of 51-14 on Friday. With the Wolverines ahead 22-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Granger better focus on containing Isi Moungaafi and Ridhwan Aweis as the pair were huge in Hunter's win. Moungaafi rushed for 77 yards and three scores on only nine carries, while Aweis rushed for 100 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Those 100 rushing yards gave Aweis a new career-high.
Hunter's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Granger, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Granger has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 213 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hunter struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 159.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Granger against Hunter when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 47-6 victory. In that game, the Lancers amassed a halftime lead of 27-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
