Temple City is 0-10 against La Canada since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Temple City Rams are on the road again and play against the La Canada Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Temple City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Temple City took a serious blow against Los Altos, falling 70-41. While losing is never fun, Temple City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 870th, while Los Altos is ranked 316th).
Despite the defeat, Temple City had strong showings from Hayden Hui, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Justin Chung, who scored four points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for Chung. Another player making a difference was Shawn Le, who scored four points.
Even though they lost, Temple City were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, La Canada's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Ontario Christian by a score of 54-51. That's two games in a row now that La Canada has lost by exactly three points.
Temple City's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for La Canada, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-8 record last season and are now at 4-7.
Temple City was taken down by La Canada 72-41 when the teams last played back in February. Can Temple City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
