The Hurricane Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 76-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crimson Cliffs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hurricane in their matchups with Crimson Cliffs: they've now lost seven in a row.
Hurricane's loss came despite strong showings from Quinn Gubler and Rj Hurst. Gubler scored 19 points, while Hurst scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gubler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Calan Hughes, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
It was another big night for Sean Felts, who scored 39 points along with six rebounds and four blocks for Crimson Cliffs. Felts hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. McKay Lindquist was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Hurricane has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Crimson Cliffs, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.
Hurricane will head out on the road to face off against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Snow Canyon's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Hurricane has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road. Crimson Cliffs will take on Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pine View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
