Jake Omara and Tee King provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lewis County. The connection was good for 67 yards, the longest such play in 3A District 6 this season.
Russell took down Fleming County 35-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Omara and Rashaun Nelson gave Mason County a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Omara threw for 90 yards and one touchdown, while Nelson ran for 124 yards. Teammate Michael Strawn added to the ground attack by rushing for 58 yards.
Mason County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Royals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Omara has thrown for 276 yards and three touchdowns this season, while King has 11 catches for 211 yards. Nelson leads the league in rushing with 520 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Red Devils take on the Royals. As it stands, Russell is in first, while Mason County is in third.
East Carter and West Carter played the most hotly contested game in 3A District 6 this week, with East Carter eventually emerging with a 27-22 victory.
