Chesnee entered their tilt with Pelion on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pelion Panthers 79-52. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.
Coyie Poole had an outrageously good game as he went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. Ben Reese was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Poole wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Chesnee was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. They racked up 12 more assists than Pelion's also-impressive total of 14.
When it comes to explaining why Pelion lost, don't look at Zyan Davis. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-14 to rack up 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Joey Spires also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.
Chesnee's win bumped their record up to 21-6. As for Pelion, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.
Looking ahead, Chesnee will challenge Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chesnee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Liberty likes a good challenge. Pelion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
