The Key West Conchs will take on the American Heritage Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Key West comes in on four and American Heritage on ten.
Key West is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Archbishop McCarthy 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Conchs have posted since March 29th.
Brianna Brenner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maciee Gage, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday American Heritage sidestepped Somerset Academy for a 6-5 victory.
Lyric Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Rodriguez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Emma Griffith and Isabella Benton did most of the damage at the plate: Griffith went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Benton got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
American Heritage pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Key West, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
Key West skirted past American Heritage 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Do the Conchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
