Even though the Grove Christian School Falcons have not done well against the Williamsburg Christian Academy Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grove Christian School took down Williamsburg Christian Academy 74-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Grove Christian School to victory were Owen Collawn and Jacob Garrison. Collawn dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds, while Garrison dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 assists. Garrison is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Braxton Kidd was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Williamsburg Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Legend Bunch and Jack Marlowe. Bunch scored 23 points, while Marlowe scored 17 points. Bunch is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Watson, who scored eight points.
Grove Christian School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Williamsburg Christian Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Grove Christian School the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome The Carmel School at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. The Carmel School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Grove Christian School likes a good challenge. As for Williamsburg Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Guardian Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Guardian Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
