The Wasatch Wasps won the last time they faced the Salem Hills Skyhawks, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Wasatch strolled past Salem Hills with points to spare, taking the game 67-49. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wasatch.
Ashley Garner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Bailey Sweat was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Salem Hills lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chenielle Nye, who scored 12 points. Nye continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi King, who scored 13 points.
Salem Hills struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wasatch pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Wasatch's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Salem Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Wasatch will be playing in front of their home fans against Spanish Fork at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Spanish Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Wasatch is ranked 14th). As for Salem Hills, they will head out on the road to take on Cedar Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Hadley Whiting and Brooke Warren.
