The Raymond Seagulls lost against the Elma Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Raymond took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elma. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Raymond in their matchups with Elma: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Seagulls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Talan Yearout, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds. Yearout has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Christopher Quintana was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Elma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cason Seaberg, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Vessey, who scored eight points.
Raymond has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Elma, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Raymond will head out on the road to take on North Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elma, they will play host again and welcome Montesano, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
